The Electrolux Oxy3 ULTRA produces the optimal clean for traditional floors. The Beta powerhead option is designed for more power on traditional carpeted floors. However, it also produces great cleaning on hardwood and laminate floors. You get feedback from the Optimal light which lets you know your Oxy3 Canister is operating at peak performance. Comes with bag and filter change indicators for no-worry cleaning. The Oxy3 captures 99.97% of all the dust, allergens, and small particles it picks up so your house stays cleaner, longer. With all controls and tools in the handle, you never have to search for the right button. And simply press down the vacuum handle to instantly rewind your cord.
EL7020A is the highest rated canister by Consumer Reports in 2006 - this is why I chose it. I had this vacuum for almost a month now, and I really like its performance. I like that the wand with the power brush fits under the bed where my upright did not fit. I like that this vacuum has HEPA filtration and I do not sneeze when vacuuming anymore. The vacuum has powerful suction and nice features like "auto power-brush off when something gets stuck in it" and "auto suction reduction when something stops the airflow, so you can pull it out". E.g., if a corner of a bathroom rug gets sucked in, the vacuum reduces suction power and you can pull the rug out, and the suction increases automatically. The bags are very small (mine filled up with carpet fibers after vacuuming the house 2 times). I did not mind, all that means is that I don't keep all that dirt inside my vacuum in my home and throw it away more often. Like one other user said, the "change bag" light did not come on when the bag filled up. I found that the bag was full thanks to my curiosity. I suspect that the "change bag" light performance depends on what the bag fills up with - if it fills up with carpet fibers, which still allow sufficient airflow, the light won't come on.Another interesting thing I found was that the box says "Model EL7020A", but the bottom of the canister has a sticker that says "Model 7001". I contacted Electrolux about the discrepancy, and,…

This model is strong, silent and easier on the environment. The Electrolux ultra silencer has an high efficiency motor and only 65 DBA noise output. This canister is produced with 55-percent of plastic from recycled materials and 80-percent of the packaging is from recycled unbleached cardboard. Accessory tools are included for versatile cleaning.
Nice little vacuum. Sent mine back after one day. I have all wood floors and one area rug. Problem was that it doesn't do well even on my low-pile area rug. I only want one vacuum cleaner so I sent it back. I also felt the head of the vacuum was rather short which means more passes on your floor. For the price I think there are better options out there.

The EL7060 also provides superior cleaning power. Equipped with a 12 amp motor, the Deep Clean power head uses a high-suction motor for deep down removal of dirt, debris, and pet dander. With its direct suction system, this canister vacuum is able to hold up to 2 quarts of dust. It is recommended for all surfaces as it is able to pick up all kinds of dirt, be it bare floors or carpets. The 7 inch hose enables you to carry this compact vacuum around the house to cover greater cleaning area.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 starsFantastic, August 1, 2011 By Erin - See all my reviewsI had a very old electrolux canister vacuum that was not doing the job anymore. It was truly a tank that held up very well. I just received this vacuum as a wedding shower gift and I absolutely love it. This thing is amazing: quiet, easy to use, and picks up everything. I actually enjoy using it. The long wand is great for vacuuming molding, shelves etc. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I do see the concern with the prior reviewer regarding the placement of the on/off switch on the handle - but this really isn't an issue and it is easy to avoid turning the vacuum on and off unintentionally.Overall, I would highly recommend this product!

We've had this vacuum for more than a year now, and it gets the job done. It's easy to use despite its somewhat hefty weight and size. The "twist" handle system is a nice feature and works very well, making it easy to maneuver around furniture, etc. The headlight is another nice feature and the cord is plenty long. The negatives are the as follows: One of the LED lights in the band of lights that make up the headlight quit, suction is adequate but no better than other vacuums that cost much less, and the bags, while big, are VERY expensive. One design issue others have commented on is that the cord has to be completely unwound to use the wand.Overall it's a very nice vacuum, and it seems well built and likely to last a good long time. My wife love it and would probably rate it higher than I do, but, given the hefty price of the vacuum and bags, I think there are vacuums out there that offer better value.

The Trilobite is the world's first automatic vacuum cleaner. It was designed with one goal in mind: to give people time for more important things than vacuuming. But since its launch in Europe last year, it has earned reputation for more than just house cleaning. For starters, its sleek design makes it interesting and attractive. Its low, round body helps it maneuver in small spaces, and under furniture. It's also industrious. It can clean the whole room, spot-clean or do a quick-clean, right before the guests arrive. And it's sensitive. So much so, that it can vacuum around a glass of water without spilling a drop. Best of all, it is independent and conscientious. All you have to do is hit go, since the Trilobite figures out how to navigate the room, and then cleans it, all by itself. If it gets tired, it returns to the charging baywithout your having to lift a finger. It even turns itself off when it's finished. The Trilobite uses ultrasound to navigate through a room, just like a…
I bought a Discovery myself to help with my asthma and only used it in my tiled kitchen/family room. A very easy floor to clean. My friends were so impressed 4 of them bought roombas and or scubas.... Well I'm sorry to say that 3 of them as well as I have had irobot replace parts and refurb machines (might I add ... we had no problem with customer service) until the warranty was up...Now they want another 100.00 for another refurb... Not getting it from me! I just bought the trilobite for $437.00 and for one it really SUCKS... not simply brushing the dirt but vacuuming it up. It is a true vacuum not a sweeper like the roomba's. And if you can afford to get real lazy you can get the Karcher RC-3000 RoboCleaner that even has a self emptying feature.

I wouldn't recommend this product for a home. It's too cumbersome, the cord catches on everything (maybe a retractable cord in the future?), the attachments are hard to remove. It would probably be fine in a large, open commercial environment.

I have owned my share of vacuums over the years. And like strollers, I kept trying to find the "one" that would be all I needed. I think I finally found it! About a month ago, I decided to put my Eureka Boss out to pasture and begin the search for a new vacuum. My FIL had a new Dyson vacuum that he seemed to like, so I started my research there. Boy, am I glad other reviewers recommended in their reviews to check out the Miele vacuums instead!I live in a four story Colonial (basement is "unfinished", but we have rugs down where the washing machine is) and our walk-up attic was just refinished with wall-to-wall carpeting. On the other two "main" floors, it's mostly hardwood/tile and area rugs. So, we have many different floor surfaces requiring different maintenance needs! The more I researched Miele, the more I knew a canister vacuum was for me. I couldn't fathom trying to carry a heavy upright up and down all the different levels in my house. I found a local appliance store that sold Mieles and went to look at them myself. We bought one soon after through Amazon. Here's what I like most about the Miele:1. The retractable cord. It's a pet-peeve of mine that more appliances don't have this feature! And although the cord isn't super long, it's enough to do a room (at least in my house) and then unplug it to do another room.2. The quietness. I just had a second baby and was worried about how I was going to keep the house clean with coordinating TWO nap…
